Powering Progress in Niles, Michigan
At Vaughn Industries, some projects push our teams to think bigger, work smarter, and lean on each other’s strengths. Our Transmission & Distribution crew recently faced one of those moments in Niles, Michigan.
The task? Disassemble a 345kV tower, add a 20-foot extension, and carefully reassemble it. This wasn’t just about moving steel — it required precision, planning, and trust at every step. With safety as the top priority, our crew worked together to make it look effortless, even though the challenge was anything but.
This tower extension was part of a larger project that also included installing new lines, setting poles as tall as 130 feet, and navigating sensitive wetland areas with care. Every piece of the job reminded us that no two projects are ever alike — and that’s where our people shine.
We’re incredibly proud of the skill, dedication, and teamwork our crew brought to this project. Their work not only strengthened the grid but also showed, once again, what Vaughn Industries is capable of when faced with a big challenge.
